My name is Roxana Gonzalez. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of South Carolina. Trained in public finance and urban economics, I study who bears the cost and reaps the benefits of tax policy in housing markets.

During my PhD, I worked as a Data Scientist at the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce. I received a B.A. in Economics with a minor in Information Sciences from the University of Tennessee in 2022, and am an alumna of the American Economic Association Summer Program (AEASP). I am the daughter of Mexican immigrants and a first-generation college student.

In my free time I enjoy competitive sailing and pickleball.
